Cpl Alan Notley went on to represent Great Britain in the 1964, 1968 and 1972 Olympics in the Biathlon, which involves an overall 20km cross country ski, where every 5km 20 shots were fired, 10 from the prone position and 10 from a standing position.
After the 1972 Olympics, Alan became the Great Britain B Team Trainer.
